Hello All,
In this article: SAP- Entrepreneurship for sustainable methods of poverty alleviation, very important methods pertaining to my practice experience are being explored. SAP, a software corporation, announced at the World Economic Forum that it was going to invest over $4 million dollars in Livelihoods Fund, but more importantly to my practice experience, "SAP has also announced that it is to make an initial €2 million investment to three organizations: Endeavor Global, Endeavor Brazil and India’s National Entrepreneurship Network. The focus for investment will be on job creation and responsible and sustainable business growth for emerging entrepreneurs, the company says." Economic Forum and SAP. This directly relates to my practice experience of working to create entrepreneurs who work towards poverty alleviation methods. There are emerging trends for using entrepreneurship as a tool to find global poverty whether it is at a local level or global scale. Creating entrepreneurs who work to solve global poverty is an interesting method because while it lies in the same foundations of creating local entrepreneurs in poverty ridden areas, it has an element of removal where the entrepreneurs look to offer a solution to a problem than directly create entrepreneurship within the community. However this could also be method of the entrepreneur. All forms are connected, and very much like the Grameen bank which offers microcredit to start small business within the community, at a larger level the bank itself is an entrepreneurial venture. Entrepreneurship encouragement is becoming more promenant within political infrastructure as well. The UNDP recently awarded grant to Bangladesh for the entrepreneurial ventures taking place that lift people out of poverty. Entrepreneurship at a local and structural level are very important to the goal of poverty alleviation. Successful entrepreneurs working toward sustainable poverty alleviation methods like Paul Polak discuss the unsustainable practices that foreign aid delivers and the pitfalls that relaying on only these methods offer. SAP is at the forefront of the next wave of poverty alleviation methods that work to reduce poverty in a SUSTAINABLE way through entrepreneurial ventures.
